on Armstrong put it best. We in America act shocked when it turns out that a politician has a mistress. The French say "But of course" because it is expected.
I am not convinced that "doping" gave Armstrong a competitive advantage. Given the strong likelihood that all of his European competitors were doping, Armstrong's doping simply leveled the playing field so that Armstrong's God-given talents could prevail.
If anything, I am impressed with his ingenuity and ability to pull off what he did for as long as he did.
As I have told some before, several years ago I had an labor arbitration against the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for an officer who had been fired for consuming steroids meant for cattle. I called Doctor Don Catlin as a witness. He is the nations foremost expert on steroids. Catlin stated in response to a question from the arbitrator (totally unrelated to the arbitration) that he believed that Lance Armstrong was doping.
Charles Barkley said it best years ago: "I am not a role model".
