Don't agree. Of course there are fewer 5 stars. There are far fewer "cream of the crop" .......

players than good players or average players. The points to be made are (1) that naming cream of the crop players is a crap shoot or (2) lots of good or average college recruits become the crop players after 2, 3 or 4 years of college coaching and experience.
Statistically, you'd think more than one 5 star high school player would be all Pac12 2, 3 or 4 years later, wouldn't you??
But yes, going in, anybody would rather have all 5 stars than 3 stars. But it doesn't guarantee you anything. I'm sure USC had far more 5 stars than any other Pac12 school this past season. But they also had the Great Leveler, Lane Kiffin.
